2024 Minnesota Sales and Use Tax Rate Changes

This post is to keep track of 2024 Minnesota sales and use tax rate changes for general tangible items. To learn more about how sales and use tax works in Minnesota, read Minnesota Sales and Use Tax Fact Sheet.

Effective 4/1/2025:
  1. Winona County adds a new county tax of 0.25%.
  2. Stearns county adds a new county tax of 0.375%.
  3. Jackson County adds a new county tax of 1.00%.
  4. City of Richfield, Monticello, Hibbing, Henderson, Dilworth, Detroit Lakes, Chanhassen, Blackduck,   Woodbury and Stillwater add a new city tax of 0.5% each.
Effective 1/1/2025:

Chippewa and Watonwan counties add new sales and use tax.

Effective 7/1/2024:

Tax rate in Beltrami county is changed.

Effective 4/1/2024:

City tax rates in Bloomington, Golden Valley, Saint Paul and county tax rate in Polk county are changed.
